ESD Bench & Chairs
At Industrial Seating ™ we view sitting
as a dynamic activity. Quality ergonomic design goes into every
industrial seating tm chair without compromising our advanced
technology or our commitment to value.
Selecting industrial seating ™ office or production seating means workplace productivity
is increased, while back, leg and neck problems are decreased. By reducing the risk and frequency of back,
leg and neck problems thorough superior ergonomically designed ESD Bench & Chairs. We help employers contain
the costa5 associated with minor traumas which accumulate from inappropriate seating.
Foam quality: At industrial seating tm we understand that the
quality, firmness, and thickness of foam is very important. We
have always used the highest quality dual-density foam in our
seats and backs. Dual density foam produces a seat which is initially
soft, but remains firm underneath to provide proper support for
prolonged seating. is tm seating will remain ergonomically stable
for at least to ten to twenty years.
Seat cushion ergonomics: The use of firm foam of the proper thickness
stops seat cushions from ¨ wrapping¨ around legs. As this
reduces compression on the leg capillaries and soft tissues, it
reduces restriction of blood flow. Increased circulation promotes
user comfort and productivity.
Back cushion ergonomics: When designing a back cushion as integral
part of an ergonomic chair, it is important to understand that
the basic dynamics of the spine. When a person sits, the lower
lumbar area has tendency to bend more radically, causing uneven
vertebral spacing and disk pressure. Industrial seating TM back
cushion offer graduated support lo the lumbar area vertebra, thus
maintaining uniform disk spacing. We also offer, as an option,
a simple system for adjusting the lumbar pressure.
Adjustability: As bodies are of different heights, weights, and
spinal configurations, the need for adjustability is crucial.
People need to be able to adjust their position to accommodate
their height and weight, as well as their activities white seated.
We provide pneumatic height adjustment, independent back height
and back angle adjustment, adjustable seat angle and adjustable
foot rings. This allows industrial sealing tm chair users to change
positions easily. This adjustably will also allow occupants to
open up their posture, promoting better circulation and processing
of oxygen, essential for increased attention and productivity.
Industrial seating ™ has never taken
a ¨ back seat¨ to any manufacturer in quality, value,
and ergonomics.
Safety Standards
At industrial seating ™, we have established
our own high standards for balance and structural integrity.
Positive back stop and wide bass: These
keep the occupant from extending upper body weight past the point
where the base will safely support it.
T-Nut fasteners: All Industrial Seating
™ cushions are securely fastened to the chair’s structural
components by use of ¨ T-nuts¨, and machine screws. there
is no dependence on adhesives of wood screws.
ANSI/ BIFMA & GSA STANDARS: Structural
standards set by these three highly respected national organizations
are used as purchasing guidelines by most major buyers of office
seating. Companies using these standards have drastically reduced
the possibility of injury to their employees. all industrial seating
tm products meet and exceed each structural and wear standard.
Braking Casters: Braking casters are
offered on all Industrial Seating ™ modes to reduce the risk
of accidents. These special casters roll with resistance when
the chair is empty, but release to roll smoothly when occupied.
Clean Room Specifications
We offer clean room seating designed to maintain reduced particulate levels as specified in FEDERAL STANDARD 209E, Class 10/.2 micron and/or Class 100/.5 micron.
Sealed System: On Industrial Seating clean room
seating, the air exhausted from the sealed cushions is passed
through three 99.99% effective .2-micron filter systems. These
filters allow air within the sealed cushions to be expelled under
minimal pressure.
This filtering system first “strains out” larger
particles, then traps all particles down to below 0.2 micron
size. Fastener holes in cushions are filtered with the same
quality system.
Permanent adhesives are used to double seal edges of all cover
materials used on IS class 10 and class 100 clean room seating.
Independent Tests: Results of independent
laboratory tests (available upon request) on IS clean room seating
produced results of ten times less particulate then allowed
by Federal Standard 209E for both class 100 and class 10 seating.
Group II Heavy Duty 36.z. vinyls:: We use
only GenCorp TM Prefix tm treated heavy duty vinyls on our clean
room (-VCR) models. These vinyls use patented technology to
eliminate the possibility of most stains, while making cushions
covered with these special vinyls much tougher to puncture or
tear.
Group IV Dissipative. Vinyls: This heavy duty
42-once dissipative vinyl (108 to 109 per square) carries static
charges trough its carbon filled inner layer to avoid “echo”
charges. A thin nonconductive layer eliminates sloughing of
conductive particulate.
Our fifteen-year unconditional warranty covers every aspect
of our seating, including static control.
Rubber Edge Protector: Each industrial vinyl
cushion comes with a soft urethane edge banding to safeguard
against tears and cuts.
Stainless Steel: All clean room seating products
come standard with double chrome plated gas spring columns and
back bars. For special applications, stainless steel staples,
fasteners and electropolished stainless steel and/or zinc plated
metal components are available to further reduce particulation.
Conductive Seating Features

Our Conductive seating insures a safe, static-clear work area. All conductive seating models are equipped with conductive seat cushions, back cushions, as well as metal parts, and a patented dual resistance system.
ESD Dependability is absolutely critical for
the entire structural life of the chair. When we patented triple
cushion conductivity, we engineered the most dependable static
control system ever designed.
Operator Safety is important: Many conductive
chairs are used at test benches where operators could receive
an electrical shock. All of our ESD Chairs have dual resistors
in the vertical gas lift column. These two resistors reduce
the possibility of injury in production and test areas, while
static charges dissipate rapidly.
Complete discharge is critical: ISTM pioneered
the use of conductive fabric with backer. Without our patented
system, following the path of static charge on a seat cushion
was very easy. It leaves smaller charges on the nonconductive
filaments it passes on the surface. A each layer in an ISTM
cushion is progressively more conductive, charges pass directly
from the fabric to the backer, and then off the cushion.
These fabrics have a higher resistance level on the surface
that the special latex backing material. This directs the static
charges through the special fabric to the lower resistance latex
backing layer, eliminating static “echo charges”.
Chairs must withstand a caustic environment:
We know static control chairs are sometimes used in the same
area where soldering, plating, and wafer fabrication occurs.
These operations leave seemingly harmless amounts of chemicals
attack plastic products like vinyls, fabrics, and foams. Knowing
this, materials used in our seating are specifically engineered
to insure long and useful chair life under these conditions.
All static control areas are not the same:
Distributors routinely investigate every aspect of your application
before making a recommendation, assuring you the correct model
for your application.
Our fifteen-year unconditional warranty covers every aspect
of our seating, including static control.
Casters: Chairs with polished aluminum bases
are equipped with conductive casters. Nylon base models use
standard casters and a drag chain for conductivity.
Select from special casters for soft or hard floors and braking
casters to reduce the mobility of the chairs while they are
unoccupied.
Group IV ISstat™
fabrics are woven from lo-static generative polyolefin, and
are rated at 106 ohms per square. Conductivity is established
with continuous conductive filaments running in both directions.
These conductive filaments are interconnected by a dissipative
latex back coating.
